The Visioneering Conference on the future of competences, education, and learning brought together stakeholders from businesses, educational institutions, and foundations for a collective conversation about the challenges and opportunities our children and young people face as they approach a future none of us can predict.

ESA Astronaut

From August 26, 2023, to March 12, 2024, Danish ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen was on a mission to the International Space Station. He served as the pilot for the journey, marking the first time NASA appointed a non-American as pilot on a SpaceX mission. He later also served as commander of the space station.

The future is not a destination, it is a shifting horizon. And it is changing fast these years. No one can predict the future, but as a society we need to have a conversation about which trends are relevant and what possible consequences and actions lie ahead. Carsten Beck is an economist by training and has worked with foresight, trend analysis and scenario planning at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies. He has extensive knowledge of megatrends and development patterns, with experience from working in more than 30 countries. When the future is on the agenda, the key is to be exploratory, listen to new voices and make it both actionable and scalable.

Chair of the Expert Group on ChatGPT and Exams

From Cheating to Learning. The expert group was established in 2023 by Minister of Education Mattias Tesfaye. As chair, Birgitte has deep insight into how AI is affecting upper secondary schools. “It is absolutely crucial that students learn to use and relate to artificial intelligence in a reflective, critical, and constructive way,” Birgitte stated in connection with the publication of the group’s recommendations.

As Denmark’s first professor in science identity, Henriette Holmegaard explores why some children and young people develop and maintain an interest in science while others lose it. We have joined forces to make space for all children and young people in technology and science, and we work to ensure that Danish companies have access to strong candidates in engineering, IT, and science.
